Currency report: February 2022

Uncertainty has emerged as the dominant theme of 2022, with Russia's invasion of Ukraine being the most recent manifestation of that. In February 2022, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed about 1.6% lower while the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost about 1.8%. Russia's war in Ukraine has created a massive new source of concern for investors but the reasons for the selloff go beyond the conflict. Additional concerns include higher inflation, impending interest rate hikes, and a slowing rate of economic growth.
